We make the same mistakes our fathers have made
and the father’s before them.
We feel around in the dark for the light, for the switch
in a world where we have no hands.
Our eye sight is gone, so is our taste and touch
but still we seek pleasure in life.
We squander our wealth, our lives and our health,
to earn more treasure and gold.
Once it is all said and done and we’ve all hand our fun,
will you be smiling or dead?
For the choices we make and the company we keep
say more than the words on our tongue.
