This too will be forgotten

Vivid illusions dance with elagance

Like shadow puppets

In flickering black and white

Old home movies

Rattling through

Frame by frame

My memories project

In bits of illumination

Then darkness

Then white, blinding

Focus falls on one image

And stays there

Holding on to yesterdays

It’s gone as fast as it arrived

I wish I didn’t already miss its glow

Its comfort

Solitude sinks in

Heavy

The after image fades from my eyes

Like the dimming of a dying fire fly

This too will be forgotten
